A team of designers and researchers at Cornell have used 3D printing technology and geometric engineering principles to re-imagine what a brick can become. They have created a system of interlocking, ceramic bricks which are lightweight and dont require mortar. Their PolyBrick is hollow to cut down on the use of the clay powder material during post processing. The process was slow but allowed for a higher degree of accuracy and resolution.
