A thought provoking post............................ Indian Brand of Socialism has become rudderless with all its evil effects All Communists are Socialists but all Socialists are not Communist. No country in the world is entirely socialist or capitalist. Socialist countries are either Fabian Socialist, Guild socialist, Marxist, Utopian Socialist or Syndicalists. India is the only country which follows a peculiar Socialism which with the passage of time has become confused and rudderless after six decades of its implementation. Now it has become a case of self inflicted wound for India. Lately all the social, moral, religious and political evils have become hallmark of this peculiar Socialism. Over 50% lawmakers of Parliament/State Assemblies are now either hereditary members, feudal in outlook or having criminal background. This number is going up with each successive General Elections. To create vote bank, leaking subsidies are freely being encouraged even if country’s economy is getting paralyzed. Over 40 kinds of unfriendly, opaque and complicated taxes are being levied to meet the cost of leaking subsidies. Politics as the noblest Endeavour is now dirty mafia garbage politics. Only symptoms are treated, diseases of the state and society are ignored. It hardly matters if India is known as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Socialism has to continue. Out of umpteen, a few ill effects of Nehruvian Socialism can be briefly mentioned It has killed the noble concept of Gandhi ji, Gokhale and Tilak about Freedom, Liberty and Self rule (Swaraj). Even the so called Panchayti Raj has become Collector’s Raj in rural areas and state controlled bureaucratic Raj in urban areas. Public Voices and aspirations are curtailed. Government has become Leviathan and authoritarian Master to tell what is good for the 120 crores sovereign People of India. 2. Religion is not compatible with public interest, so Government gives different treatment to different religion for creating vote bank. Indian laws do not apply equally to all e.g. Muslims follow their own Sharia Laws conflicting national laws. Hindu temples are regulated and even controlled by Government but Government does not dare to have same rules for Churches and Mosques etc 3. Both Central and State governments tend to be non transparent and unaccountable and avoid decentralization. In spite of the best administrative models available in the world, Government prefers outdated colonial model of IAS bureaucracy and utilizes this public service as Indian Association of (spineless) Servants (of political bosses.) 4. It encourages those people who can find way out to receive wealth through Commission, nepotism and political influence without doing any useful social work. 5. Thus wealth is not created through hard and sincere work/transparent professions but divided through leaking subsidies and major portion of this is siphoned off through dubious means by political leaders, Gurus/dealers of Hope and bureaucrats. Loss making PSUs are allowed to continue for political reasons to secure votes. 6. Politicians may not be villains, but this brand of Socialism make them pathetic and even self serving anti people. 7. The cases of reward in this kind of Socialism is making tons of money (recent Vadra case, 2G scam, Coalgate scam and many others) through practices by unsocial low caliber citizens. A large number of people are now getting ideas that do not have to work as sincere, honest, hardworking people are going to look after them. It could lead to end India as a nation leading to rise in parochial and zonal voices. 8. Indian brand of rudderless Socialism is making people poor to poorer, Rupee value is fast decreasing, inflation is sky high and still rising, governance has become bad, law and order is fast deteriorating, justice is not possible as it is very expensive and delay some. There is wide spread cynicism and disillusionment with governance, legislatures have becomes COMBAT Arenas. Socialism has killed all value systems, ethics, morality etc. 9. Politics is now by dynasties both at the Center and States. The trend is going up leading to Hereditary Monarchy and assorted Indian Princelings Countries in the world are now either leaving rudderless socialism like erstwhile USSR or modifying socialism like China. We are making it from bad to worse. It is high time the Sovereign Citizens of India should start thinking seriously on this issue to usher in an era of Politics as the noblest Endeavour to attain Freedom, Liberty and Swaraj.
