A traditional medicinal decoction of the Banisteriopsis caapi vine - TopicsExpress

A traditional medicinal decoction of the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and other sacred jungle plants, ayahuasca has a long history of use by Amazonian shaman for healing and divinatory purposes. A mixture of various psychoactive infusions (most notably Dimethlytriptamine, or DMT) many who have consumed ayahuasca believe it to be an expander of consciousness that facilitates modified states of perception, which in turn opens one to deep and intense internal transformation. Many who have consumed ayahuasca report that it allowed them to confront and purge their deepest negative emotions, resulting in a profound opening of the heart. This "purging" may (but not necessarily) manifest itself in one or more of many ways: tears, vomiting, seeing images or visions, the arising of emotions or reflections, and/or bodily sensations, ultimately resulting in a profound cleansing of the mind, body and spirit. Participants in traditional ayahuasca ceremonies have reported that ayahuasca left them with a profound insight into their true purpose on earth, the very nature of the universe itself, and how to transform themselves into the best person they can be: in short, the ayahuasca experience has been described by many as a spiritual awakening or "rebirth", and has been said to be one of the most effective tools of enlightenment. Through my ayahuasca experiences in the Perú, I also was fortunate enough to experience the profound healing, heart opening and spiritual awakening described above. By sharing our ayahuasca experiences, stories and opinions on this Facebook page, we hope to deepen this understanding of this incredible plant and its healing properties: by facilitating shamanic journeys to the Amazon, we hope to provide participants with the opportunity to experience the profound personal insight and transformation that participation a traditional ayahuasca ceremony can bring.
