A tragic event yesterday in Moore, OK, not far from where we live, has served as a stark reminder of the evil that is in this world and how we need to remember the words of Jesus who taught us to pray, “DELIVER US FROM EVIL.” Yesterday afternoon, Alton Nolen, a recent convert to Islam, returned to Vaughn Foods, a food distribution plant in Moore, OK from which he had been fired. The first person he encountered was 54-year-old Coleen Huffard whom he stabbed multiple times and then beheaded her. He then proceeded to attack another employee, Traci Johnson. At this point Mark Vaughn, the company’s chief operating officer and a reserve county deputy, came on the scene and shot and killed Nolen. Police Sargent, Jeremy Lewis, called Vaughn a hero, saying, “It could have gotten a lot worse.”
