A tribute to my Lap of Love patient: In memory of Zoe Grace, a 14 year old Coonhound from Monmouth Beach, NJ who lost her battle with arthritis and old age this evening. She was rescued by her parents at the NYC ASPCA and brought to the Jersey Shore. She survived 2 dog attacks while she was strolling in her beach town as well as Superstorm Sandy last year. She was true to her hunter breed and would chase any wildlife that came into her yard. She was “The Punk” after leaping over a 3.5 foot and 4 foot fence several times. She brought much joy and happiness to her loving family over the years. Shortly after Superstorm Sandy, she was having trouble walking and it was only a matter of time when her legs would give out. But she never lost her sweet spirit and her loving personality. She carried that with her over the rainbow bridge this evening and greeted by her sibling Pepper and the many pets her parents loved over the years. In the brief moments of meeting her before saying goodbye, you could see why her parents loved her so much. Rest in peace sweet Zoe Grace. ~ Dr. Shannon
