A true love story: It’s not glamorous, and I don’t know all the details, but the look in my patient’s eyes when he talks about his wife shows me that true love does exist. He has nothing but kind and thoughtful words to say about her, and although their time was short, a mere 20 years together, they were the best years he has known. Though she’s been gone longer than they were together…..36 long years since cancer took her away…..he still loves her and has found no other. You know this by the simple fact that when you ask, “She was the love of your life wasn’t she?” tears well up in his eyes and he whispers a soft “yes.” This is simply beautiful, and wonderful, and reveals the power of love!
