A truly sweet story.... Some of you know my situation well enough. Duke is now 11, we have struggled with severe ADHD and mess and at 9 yrs old he finally HAD to go live with his father. My daughter, 16 now, has been fine up until recent teenage yrs have also caused our trials and tribulations through life to be tested as our closeness has waned on and off course. At 16, we know everything. I certainly did. Of course I was going to be a HUGE real estate mogul, drive a SAAB, be married to some very wealthy man and have 2.5 kids with a golden retriever. Church on Sunday at Wilshire Baptist Church. Now, my 16 yr old wants to be a cosmetologist, go to college in California with Equine therapy(b/c its cheaper) and shes an Atheist. Although I have brought her up as a Christian. Now, tonight, my son, has blown me out of the water!! Hes been off his meds now for almost 1 year, but not without my screaming and kicking the whole time. Hes been in more trouble this past year at school, but for once, hes not the zombie shell of my baby, Duke Walker. Hes this great, loving, wonderfully funny and gifted and talented young man. But he has also started to form his own wonderful opinions. Like tonights, which was, he is a Polytheist! I had never even heard of this word before! Once he explained it, I was in awe of my son. What an amazing and brilliant young man to take his own thoughts, look them up, not let his mother, father, or supposedly cooler older sister persuade this young man into deciding what he wants to believe in?!?! My son Duke believes in my God and in Jesus Christ, but he also chooses to believe in Zeus or Neptune or the Sun, for instance. That is the amazement and wonderment of a Beautiful Mind at work! God works in his own ways, in his own time.....will you be listening when he talks to you? Awesome, MIND BLOWN!! THANKS FOR READING!!
