A usual Monday eve, I make dinner and the family sits around the table together. But tonight the family fended for themselves and I spent much of the eve on the back porch. Unusually warm with a constant breeze rustling through the trees that line the edge of the back field. I could hear leaves crunching in the distance, the guardians hear it too and let out a few deep barks. Every so often the bells the goats wear on their collars clank in rhythm with the tarp that covers the hay and seems to be fighting with the wind. Crickets are also out on this warm eve, their chirps echo through the dried grass that now cover the once lush summer pasture. A beautiful designed blanket of starts covers us all. No matter which direction the wind blows or its strong gusts, the stars are steadfast and continue to shine fiercely. A beautiful reflection of the day that ends with an even more beautiful night. And much needed strength gained by the sweet beauty of nature. Rest well my friends, good night.
