A very easy and fair way to foster a healthier economy is to offer tax incentives to companies that have a reasonable ratio between employee pay and CEO pay. This is the answer to small companies who fear being unable to do business if they have to raise wages to a livable standard. They SHOULD be rewarded, not penalized - likewise companies that keep jobs in America. The Wall St transaction fee would be a great revenue stream, barely affecting the wealthiest but benefiting all by refilling our depleted funds for schools, roads, clean water and even defense and security. The idea that companies are forced to do business outside the US is complete bullsh*t. Big businesses will cut corners to the maximum until theyre forced to stop by regulations. Its a mindless, conscience-less process. Its cheaper to make hamburgers out of pink slime and other mystery meat, and people will buy them by the billions, so fast food companies use whatever cheaper-and-cheaper substances they can make palatable - and STILL refuse to pass the greater and greater profits along to their workers until forced one way or another to do so. They arent geared to doing whats best for people or for the county - that is the job of GOVERNMENT.
