A very entertaining experience Yesterday (9th January 2015) I went to Radhikapur station for the first time from Raiganj to take Radhikapur Kolkata express just to see this terminal station in this segment. I would love to share this story: 1. There is no motorable road till the station. 2. We got down at Ramganj bazar and walked along the railway tracks to reach the station (About 2 KM). On the way I saw the river Taangoon and a make shift arrangement to cross it. Some bamboos over an old structure. Not possible to take car or other vehicle. 3. We cross another dried river called river Radhikapur (as per board on the railway tracks). 4. The train was scheduled at 5.50 PM. I reached the station at 4.50 PM. 5. I saw Two trains standing in the station. One is our Radhikapur express and the other one is Raadhikapur Anand Bihar express. 6. There was only Three people in a general coach of our train and only about 12 - 15 people on the other platform (Probably they were Railway staffs). 7. My booking was in AC coach. Both the AC coaches were under lock & key. I came to know that the staff ( Supposed to open these had gone for tea). These were opened at around 5. 30 PM. 8.I was the lone passenger in my coach (AB 1) with the TTE Mr Ali till next station Kaliaganj. 9. On enquiry I got the information that there were hardly 10 other passengers in the entire train during this part. 10. The railway tracks ended at this particular station. The Dinajpur district of Baangladesh can be seen from the end of the station. Nice experinece and I enjoyed it fully.
