A very interesting research article on the benefits of echinacea - TopicsExpress

A very interesting research article on the benefits of echinacea and leukemia. I wish conventional medicine would implement things like echinacea into treatment protocols. They tell us things like this dont help our kids... When the research proves it does. Another interesting thing I learned from this article... When you combine echinacea with melatonin the effect that it has on the body is enhanced.... Providing even more benefit to the leukemic patient.... Totally awesome as I give both of these to Kayla. **There is another powerful NK stimulant called melatonin, which the mammalian body makes in the pineal gland, and its role is to act as a neuroimmunomodulator (44–48). When we gave the combination of Echinacea and melatonin (43), via the diet, daily to leukemic mice (leukemia induced as above), not only did we find the usual significant elevation in NK cells but also the long-term survival increased to 40%, compared with the one-third of the leukemic mice when Echinacea alone was given (above). Thus, at least for this tumor, the two NK stimulants together were indeed better than one. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1193558/
