A very longgggg day today that started out with a simple task of checking on horse that needed water carted in. Upon arriving, there was no horse, because there wasnt adequate fencing to hold it in. Part barb wire, part electric tape with no electricity on the place and no solar charger. So for some time now the horse has wandered freely through heavily wooded areas belonging to other folks. No vetting, no farrier and a 23 year old young lady that the responsibility got dumped on, doing the best she could with no tools or materials to do so. Needless to say the picture changed quickly from lending a helping hand to getting the horse out of there if we could find her. After a long hike through woods and stepping on posted properties to follow her well worn travel trail, I still couldnt find her. I have no room here at our rescue and no responsible rescue crowds. So I call my heroes, RVR Rescue. Who of course is full too, but has more room by far, than we do and are true warriors for our horses. Shawn Jayroe knew the panic I was feeling at not being able to find the mare and began lining up a search party. In the mean time I ran back to the farm, grabbed nails, hammer and tools to jury rig the paddock to hold her if we found her. In the end the mare came out of the woods, we got her, I held her in the pen and used my truck to block the gate I had no cover for. Then the RVR ANGELS rolled in ;) Sadie is on her way now to safety. Thank you RVR!!! Every one of you ROCK!!! And it was so wonderful to finally get that huge bear hug from Shawn
