A very powerful video. Every day thousands of Americans get up and put on a uniform, a badge, and a gun. These people are our true heroes. They are some of the most disliked and most under respected people in the country. Every day they put their lives on the line so that we do not have to. They make the unpopular decisions that keep you and I safe. When the bullets start flying they are the ones running towards them. When the bomb goes off they head towards the fire. When a silent night is disrupted with cries of pain and calls for help, not knowing what is on the other side of the door, alley, building etc. they move in. Giving their lives at a moments notice for little pay and for little respect. Pig, copper, police, law enforcement officer, these are just some of the names, good and bad, that the public refers to them by. They are dads, mothers, brothers, sons, daughters and so much more to someone and in a moment they are willing to say goodbye to all of that to make sure that we can live in a civilized society in peace. If you have a police officer in your family make sure to tell them thank you at some point. Believe it or not but you may be the first person to thank them for what they do. I am very proud of both of my uncles for the years of service they have given to the Woodfin Police Department, and for my cousin in the Henderson County Sheriffs Department.
