**A very special man named Brad*** Brad is 33 years of age & is very much an animal lover himself. He has 3 pets who he adores:- Tommy (cat) who is 18 years old Sakura (dog) who is 8 years old Gerti (dog) who is 1 years old Brad follows this PFT site and mentions often to his family the stories of the animals we bring in to care, their hardships, their triumphs, their journeys. I imagine that he can relate to the pound dogs and their health and for PFT giving them all a second chance in life because he too is able to relate to the kindness of people. You see, Brad was born with Cystic Fibrosis and as a consequence had a liver transplant when he was young. Then, in 2011 he also had a lung transplant which transformed his life. He has such enormous dignity and joy for life even in the face of ongoing medical issues that would bring most people to their knees. Brad keeps a money jar where all his coins are put in to. Brad & his beautiful family have cashed in the money jar and the proceeds of $500 have been donated to the work of PFT. At 33 years of age, Brad passed away this year.... His family are understandably heartbroken. Their gesture to donate Brads money jar to PFT is humbling. His 8 year old dog Sakura was able to visit him at St Vincents hospital here she sat next to him & he could feel her soft fur against his hand. When she came home she went straight to his room and sat on his pillow and it seemed her little self was still with him. Brads donors live on in him and his family are forever grateful for their gift which gave them so much and gave Brad life. In an ideal world there would be organ transplants as a routine part of life because the greatest gift from one family to another cannot be measured in sorrow alone. Brad was a joy to share life with and he often mentioned the PFT posts & enjoyed the stories He was too young to leave but walks in his familys memorys and hearts every day. I personally would like to say Thank You to his beautiful family, Kristine & Bob, for their donation. In their time of sadness - they continue to think of others. Vale Brad & sleep well.
