A very thin crescent Moon shot from Brisbane, Australia, by Tom Harradine through a 10 f/4.7 Sky-Watcher manually-controlled GoTo dobsonian and an EOS 550D. The setting Moon was just 23 hours past new and 1.1% illuminated, but the time of the year meant that observers in the southern hemisphere (New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Argentina, Mozambique, South Africa etc.) could readily see it. This was 1st Shaban 1432, 2nd July 2011. The Moon was not visible from Pakistan that evening.
