A vital part of my job as a nurse leader is to perform practice reviews to create a teachable moment. Yesterday I visited one of our many intensive care units. In walked a gentleman and a family member, I glanced up to catch all the nurses gasping, staring and in awe. One turned to me and said do you remember him? he doesnt even look the same! I got so happy, for him-sure! But for me too. A year ago I made a decision to take myself out of the small pond mentality. Like the man who came in on the brink of death, I too experienced some moments when I lost sight of the purpose. I needed life support (from my parents and my savior). I relied on visits to get me through... And now, I am a better edition of my old self, happy and kept. Im not where I am by accident. Have a take a moment out to Thank Him Tuesday! Xo-
