A volunteer writes:Micky is a young and beautiful Border Collie surrendered into our care because of housing issues. He lived with a small child, other dogs and even cats and although he is friendly to all , Micky would need some time to get used to a newcomer. Micky is really shaken up by his relinquishment, very hesitant to leave his kennel and rather skittish, looking for exits and I guess..trying to go home. Today was a better day, though. Micky was sitting at the front of his den . He got leashed easily and pranced like a pony in the street. He did not show any interest in other dogs but eliminated at each of our walks. Leash free in the yard, Micky now comes when called, sits on command, hops on the bench and presses his body against mine. He seems to feel much better now that I speak to him in Spanish, the human language he understands best. Micky is a gorgeous young dog, well cared for and wearing a well groomed and silky coat. He has lived with other pets, including cats but would prefer female dogs. He is shy but coming out of his shell, friendly and even affectionate. Micky is at the Manhattan Care Center, hoping to share very soon your life as your forever best friend.
