A warm welcome to some of our newest members and a happy Sunday to our older, more senior members of our campaign family. A little Sunday spruce-up for you all. Its obviously increasingly upsetting to see and hear about so many sharks and now stingrays and by-catch ending up dead or severely wounded by this current government initiative. But the pleasant irony and silver lining through all of this terrible concept being introduced is what it has sparked in response. Many of us already have strong environmental and conservation ties, friendships and connections, but this group and the amazing response of a huge variety of people from conservation organisations, environmental groups and indeed just everyday passionate, kind-hearted people not simply from this state but from around the globe. As a result, so many of us have made new and powerful friendships, connections and relationships that may well never have occurred and an even greater appreciation and respect and admiration has been gained from the actions and efforts of so many wonderful people. From a persona perspective, this has included the inspiring Natalie Banks, Jake Elliot, Ocean Ramsey, Riley Elliott, and Sharon Burden, but there are so many countless others that have meant so much to so many others. Furthermore, this has meant that information and education has gone viral, not just about personal stories but the sharing of science, zoological discoveries, technological developments and other fantastic initiatives that will, in fact, ensure that when this cull ends (and we WILL win this, and WILL end it!), it will never, ever return, that public safety and ecological stability and health can both be attained, and that such efforts and initiatives will continue around the world where they are needed most and ultimately create a better future for human and marine life. Through the initial tragic losses now, were creating one hell of a lot of future wins. Never forget it never give in, and shark on!!
