A wealthy businessman whose car was blown up Monday night says he has no clue about the motive behind the incident. "I have no idea why this happened and do not know who was behind it," he told The Star when contacted by telephone. Asked if any underworld rivalry could be involved, the former Emergency Ordinance detainee – a Datuk Seri – said he did not know. He, however, said he was now in the real estate industry and has not been involved in other activities for long. He refused to comment further, saying: "Most importantly, no one was hurt in the incident." The businessman, who is believed to own restaurants and nightclubs in the city, and his driver were passing through Taman Taynton View in Cheras here when the back of his luxury car blew up. Both of them stopped the car and rushed out unhurt.
