A wee poem I wrote this morning lying in bed, never done anything like this before so go easy on me! Read it out in the George pub tonight and got an amazing cheer and round of applause, nearly had me greeting! On Friday morning Scotland awoke with great anticipation, To find out if our beautiful country was gonna be an Independant nation, We turned on our teles and radios too Hoping, at last we would be free But apparently more people voted NO, so this time it was not to be Our emotions have been running high since Theres been sorrow, anger and tears Brothers and sisters this was our chance Weve wanted this day for years But were not the kinda people wholl accept defeat Well re-group and come back stronger Cause weve endured enough of Tory rule and Well not put up with it any longer The children of Scotland they deserve better The elderly and the workers too So rest assured the fight will go on till we get the best for you, So thats me Ive said my bit in front of you all standing here, Im flinging this bit of paper away now and finishing off my beer!
