A week ago, I posted about Indonesia and an area called Banda Aceh. The prep stages began with fundraising events to raise critical funds to get the team out there to help others in the aftermath of the Tsunami, just hours after Christmas day ended 10 years ago. Spare supplies had been boxed ready to ship out there and suppliers from around the country helped the team get essential medical kit to the right places and where it was needed most. Maps and media coverage was studied, this was a critical decision time, do they go or not? Rob, our Operations Manager, flew to Banda Aceh to assess the damage and assess what assistance was required. All the team in the UK patiently and nervously awaited the call to fly or not, as they continued to get more supplies and fundraised. Thanks goes to Phil Keating for the photos
