A week ago today Rocky Wood left us. His family and friends celebrated his life at his funeral today, Monday, Dec. 8th, 2 pm Australian time (10 PM Eastern, Sunday night). And it was broadcast live on the web! Even when Rocks leaving us, hes got us tuning into him. Which was great because obviously most of us couldnt be there in Australia as we would have liked. You can watch the broadcast at the link below. A beautiful service with his daughters Alicia and Tasha, family and friends tributes, and the stories! Rockys father, Ron, spoke about his sons youth and some of the amazing things he began to do. For instance at the age of five Rocky was tested with an IQ of 160! The stories from his father become even more incredible from there. Including a young Rocky who wrote a letter disputing the theories of Chariots of the Gods to author Erich von Daeniken. Guess what? He wrote Rock back! He met Rocky in New Zealand, flew him to Germany, and more! Rocky was a star early on. Who knew? If youre going to watch the celebration, then youll enjoy it, this is part of whats inside: Elton John, live singer, UFOs, harp musician, Stephen King, David Morrell, Amazing Grace, Laughing, Whitney Houston, Stephen King stories told by family and friends, Joe Hill, photo montage all through the years, and a whole lot more. Did I mention Stephen King? When Rocky passed last Monday I had to get on with the business of telling people before they read it on the web. It wasnt easy as I had to tell my wife during class (didnt want her to read it on Facebook), call Glenn Chadbourne, and then... I e-mailed Stephen King... who was so gracious with Rocky for many years on his work. His response was read at Rockys celebration today and I want to share it with you now: Mon, Dec 1, 2014 12:05 pm Rockys passing leaves a painful empty place in me. I really liked that guy. People could learn a lot from his attitude, and the way he found things to love and look forward to. Steve (King) Thank you to Alicia and the family for allowing me to be a part of todays celebration of Rocky Wood. LeeAnn and I miss him dearly. He made a difference in my life. He still does. - Dave Hinchberger
