A well known Xhosa expression around education is imfundo ayikhulelwa (education is never outgrown). It means that no matter how old you are, you can learn. When I go ezilalini (to the Eastern Cape villages) and teach the old people how to use a phone and about electricity, they will always say to me, Yhu! Imfundo ayikhulelwa! and also imfundo sisitshixo sobomi (education is the key of life), says Nobuhle Mngcwengi. Click the audio attachment to listen to Nobuhle repeating these 2 great expressions.
