A while back I decided that it would be fun to collect Soucys on Facebook.... I have been inspired to acknowledge my ancestry and the more I knw the more I crave to know......... For the past couple of years I have been co writing a novel with another person through an online collaboration, We are currently at 26 chapters or so into a great story whose origins are based in Viking times..the Vikings that came through the Netherlands..and Ireland........the research that came along with this story was pretty intense and at the same time...familiar in a way that I just cant put my finger on....and it has left me wondering about my familys heritage...and my ancestry..and so...In the spirit of family and blood and lineage....I started collecting Soucys... Although I am not sure we are truly of the same blood...something inside of my soul recognizes a familiarity in the Soucys that I have collected to those of my immediate family.....for instance...we all have real musical talent.... the ones from afar...in particular, the family of Sir Gilbert Soucy of Canada, are the family I feel closest to and although we have never met...I identify with them.............We share common physical characteristics ...we all have light skin..and bright eyes...and similar noses....and chins...and curly unruly hair....either light or red...................each of us creates art in some form...building things with our hands......photography...writing words and music........and we are happy to share those parts of ourselves, with everyone along the way.... We are all musically inclined..and by my observation with all of us...we are born with music in our souls... I think each of us would have miserable lives if music were taken away.....And....we are all incredibly passionate.....about life..and music...and love..and nature...and family...and the planet...so much so that we talk about it frequently and it is part of our moral code...and we do have moral code....unbreakable ones.......I am constantly inspired by the other Soucys and it gives me a sense of peace, that I only feel with family..... Our eyes....They carry mischief and depth and the sum of our parts to anyone who takes the time to look.....And...We are Funny......no really...we are funny....... We are Soucys and tonight I wanted to recognize you all.....it is so cool that I have you all around me.....to be inspired by...and to share each of our lives with each other, in hopes of gaining a greater understanding of ourselves.....I am the lucky one....seriously.......
