A while back I heard a radio announcer say, ‘Welcome to the Believers Hour. This full fifteen minute program is brought to you in its entirety by *Believers Hour Ministries Inc. Please give generously to keep this program going.’ Wait a minute! Wait all forty five of them! The *Time Is Short Radio Network survives on the undiscerning dollar but thinks nothing of cutting not only eschatological corners, but the air time allotment too. Several gospel infomercial specialists generously use the beg-athon method effortlessly. It’s true that the hour is late but that’s no reason to shrewdly short change the listener while asking that same listener to prop up, what comes up short on so many fronts. Have you noticed this too or do you accept, admire and gladly sponsor what you habitually enjoy listening too without question? Just to this keep posting in perspective let me add that at least two of my favorite radio broadcasts (and there are legitimate programs) do the very same thing. I find it to be annoying; so much so that I don’t financially support or recommend them and don’t feel one bit guilty; because in the end, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Disclaimer: *Generic ministry names have been changed to continue to protect the religious broadcasting agenda from an unsuspecting audience.
