A while back, an extended family member asked me why it is so important to distinguish between typical evangelical doctrine and the doctrines of grace (TULIP). I was kind of dumbfounded by the question, because it is obvious. Lovers of God, must needs be lovers of the truth. Lovers of God, and lovers of the truth, must love others...telling the truth/sharing the true gospel of Christ. And finally, at the end of the day, we must recognize that man-centered religion brings no glory to God, which is our chief end (What is the chief end of man? To glorify God and enjoy Him forever.~WSC). If we fail to bring glory to God, and fail to be intentional about that, we have not obeyed the gospel.
