A wise man once stated that what is more important is what is not - TopicsExpress

A wise man once stated that what is more important is what is not said rather than what is! An equally noted musician reinforced this when he quoted that it is not all the notes that are played in a piece of music but the ones that are left that that add to the quality and meaning!!! Why do I mention this? Dead simple!!! Please read on. I took a moment to review the pages of the Inverell Times this afternoon. A full page on the Inverell Hawks with photos to match!! You beauty, you ripper I’m thinking, I keep flicking through though and discover not a photo not even a mention about the Ashford Chicks in the Grand Final on Sunday!!! Wow what an act of omission, lack of proper judgement, just sheer stupidity or ignorance from an editor and/ or staff who should know better! After all they report or cover the news that really matters!!! Can someone explain why such a significant event would not rate a mention given the significance of the upcoming match? To expand, I infer a fledgling club in its second year is able to field a team in one of the grades in the Grand Final. Not that it is really important that Ashford with a population of 500 odd people is able to stand proud safe in the knowledge that it has rolled the heads off many Goliaths in this quest to the remaining most important match of the year! The Chicks have a player base roughly 50-50 Ashford Inverell girls. This town loves its girls, adores them! They make it proud and adopt the Inverell players as their own because they play for us and more importantly want to play for us!! Some will question the authenticity of an entirely local squad but last audit revealed we didn’t need to organise overseas players, jobs and accommodation!!! Maybe the Times should investigate whether the Hawks have a contract with Harvey World Travel for importing workers! We are just fortunate enough that people like to play for us because they like the club and receive nil remuneration. That means nil income to the Time’s staff by the way. Now if I were a betting man I would say the odds of Ashford coming away with a win were exponentially much greater than those that Hawks supporters would enjoy! Not being facetious just brutally honest I admit. So in that circumstance what would be most likely to be more reportable news? I’d prefer both teams to come away with the prize but my gut instinct tells me the Inverell boys should learn to remember the numbers on the Boomies jerseys because I think that’s all they may see Sunday afternoon! In concluding I didn’t see the positions available when the Times recruited staff but I didn’t think non humans were accepted! Otherwise how could you explain having a bloke with the brain of a billy goat calling the shots and a bunch of dumb asses following?? Simply Incredulous!!!!! Please direct any negative responses to 13 11 14. It’s Lifeline and they may care!! :)
