A woman, Kamala Goala (40), wife of Birbal Goala, was injured in an incident of firing in Gossaigaon town in Kokrajhar District today when suspected NDFB (S) militants opened fire on her inside her home. Bullet fired from a pistol has pierced her left arm. It is believed that the militants had earlier served her an extortion demand. She has been rushed for treatment to Alipurduar Hospital in the neigbouring West Bengal. She is reported to be out of danger.
