A woman dies at the hands of her current or ex partner in Australia every week, a popular musician, visible on national TV, just released a song telling women to shut the f*ck up (because women are to be seen not heard, guys!) and our government told the UNITED NATIONS that domestic violence does not fall in the realm of torture. What is psychological and physical manipulation, then? What is physical and financial isolation from society, then? What are threats against yourself and other vulnerable family members, then? The government is shirking responsibility for something that most definitely IS a form of torture because they do not value or respect women. Just look at the injustices against women and minorities in our prisons and detention centers. Please dont tell me theres no War on Women. Were living it.
