A woman is due to face court next month after police seized over 100 cannabis plants from a unit in Lakemba today. About 7.20am (Wednesday 29 October 2014), officers attached to the Wetherill Park and Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squads executed a search warrant at a residential unit on Barremma Road. During the search, officers found two bedrooms that had been allegedly converted to cultivate cannabis plants. In total, police seized 112 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of about $224,000. A 57-year-old woman was arrested at the home and taken to Campsie Police Station, where she was charged with enhanced indoor cultivation plant for commercial purpose and using electricity without authority. She was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 18 November 2014.
