A woman named Andrea Jakimer saw our Mothers Comfort Project - TopicsExpress

A woman named Andrea Jakimer saw our Mothers Comfort Project Westchester postcard regarding our upcoming sewing session at Fabric Mart in Yorktown Heights on 2/7/15. She had read about & was concerned about some Australian Koalas in great need of cotton mittens for their burned paws due to brush fires. She also just brought to my attention that there are some baby kangaroos that need pouch liners sewn. She thought Mothers Comfort Project would be a perfect fit for helping these beautiful creatures recover. We couldnt agree more! We want to thank Andrea for bringing it to our attention since we LOVE to sew in order to comfort animals of all kinds. So, if you feel moved to sew some mittens or pouch liners to help these beautiful Australian animals please do!! All mittens and liners should be mailed to: International Fund for Animal Welfare, 6 Belmore Street, Surry Hills, Sydney NSW 2010 Australia. The pattern for mittens can be found at: ifaw.org/sites/default/files/default/KOALA-MITTENS-PATTERN-A4.pdf The pattern for pouch liners can be found at: ifaw.org/sites/default/files/default/JOEY_POUCH%20INSTRUCTIONS_A4_R4.pdf I just spoke with a representative of IFAW who said they have received an amazing response to their request for mittens and pouch liners. They are very grateful. She said that the brushfires happen every year and they can use any and all mittens/pouch liners you send since they can save them for future years if they receive more than they can use now. If you do sew some mittens or pouch liners, please email a photo to us along with your name. Wed love to post the pictures here! Thank you for helping us help animals and HAPPY SEWING!
