A woman will be left scarred after being slashed in the face by a man with a knife in Kingsthorpe A 43-year-old woman was seriously assaulted yesterday (Thursday) as she walked along Boughton Green Road. She was going in the direction of Helmdon Road when a man called out to her. He then walked right up to her and slashed her face with a knife, causing serious injuries which needed hospital treatment and will leave scarring. The incident happened at about 8.30pm. The offender is described as white, aged around 19, about 5ft 9in tall with a Northampton accent. He was wearing a scarf around his face and dark jogging bottoms which were turned up at the ankle. Witnesses, or anyone who knows anything about the theft, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
