A wonderful friend and ArkanPaws Director in Rhode Island, Stephanie Dean, has lost her home tonight. It was destroyed by a fire, but luckily she was able to get all of her dogs and her 88 year-old father out to safety. Everything they owned was lost. The home has been in their family for years. Stephanie has spent the past several years being the sole caregiver for her father. He has a severe case of dementia and requires constant supervision. I can only imagine the devastation that they two of them are feeling tonight. She just lost one of her dogs last week to health issues and was reeling from the loss of a faithful companion already. As of right now, Im not aware of the details, other than they are staying in a hotel in Coventry.
