A word about Bill 202 and arguments against legislating support for GSAs in all public schools: I spent the last 12 years of my life surrounded by teens - Lots of teens. Three sons and their friends and their girlfriends and their friends girlfriends and their friends and ohmygod it was like running a youth shelter for a while (loved every second of it) and let me tell you this: Every kid I met: Catholic kids, kinda Christian kids, alt kids, emos, jocks, every damn one of them think that our generation is the STUPIDEST PERIOD GENERATION PERIOD EVER PERIOD. Because, in the words of my youngest son, What the f**k is wrong with your generation that gay people are still an issue? Youre all an embarrassment. We are only here to prepare this world for the next generation. Thats it. And we are entirely FAILING if we even have to consider mandating support for GSAs because ohmygod somebodys God might get offended. And yet here we are, having no choice but to legislate against ignorance. So before you argue that legislation shouldnt be necessary, know this: it is the ignorance and discrimination of some publicly funded school boards that has made this legislation necessary. Thats how badly our generation has already failed the next one. Shame. On. Us. #Pass202
