A word dropped from a song makes it all wrong. And even though the original poem is talking about the Russian army, and we dont really want to remind ourselves about them when we dont need to - while I have been looking at one of the premises in the ATO zone -- I have been digging deep out of my memory these lines: Retreating this day and the next, We wonderd when s our battle, vext; The veterans talkd upset: What then? we re off to winter dorms? Go the commanders by new norms; Darent they rip foreign uniforms On Russian bayonet? (Borodino, Lermontov) So the winter flats for Phoenix battalion. An old-old school building, some day probably bright and buzzing with childrens voices, fun and games. The remains of a folk art museum, large halls, spacious rooms..... but no flooring??? where the hell is the flooring??? and seats in the WCs? no toilet seats? That school had nothing metal left inside it - all of it has been stolen and sold as scrap. No wiring. There are windows, but not always glazed. But even where they are glazed, were not talking double glazing, so all sorts of drafts are going to happen. And this is where we are supposed to spend the winter. And, I have a suspicion this is where Ill be celebrating New Years eve. Right in this toy hut inside the hall. Good stuff its got a stove inside it. But unfortunately the stove is as also a decoration, like the hut itself. But we will need heaters that are not decorations. And now we have a new project - urgent insulation and heating of these premises. Obviously, as usual we do not have financing. We need insulation film, foam, wood, nails, stoves, wiring and generators. The list is three pages long. Please help!
