A young Man, aged 18, dies in a collision, with a tree, on a bend, which connection splits his vehicle into two parts. Paramedics remove his body where he is still strapped in, with the jaws of life. Tragic. Happy nobody else was killed. Thoughts of the speed he must surely have been traveling. It is reported in the press and shared on FB, and the comments begin. Comments such as Good, he wont do it again, and many more. So what are we teaching our children? Consequences? Perhaps, and it is vital to do so. That cannot possibly be the right way though, can it? In passing judgement in this way we are also teaching our Children that certain irresponsible actions deserve death as a consequence. Then we wonder, often, and verbalise it, often, why many youth have little to no feeling for their fellowman, are so unforgiving....... This is but one example. And for me, it is sad.
