A young man (very young) from my home town in western Oklahoma took his own life yesterday as a result of the unrelenting misery heaped on him by people who boast of being Christians. All because he was honest about being gay! Now, they are adding to their own vileness by castigating him even in death. Ignorance can be an ugly, ugly, ugly thing! And WILLFUL IGNORANCE is even more EVIL when it is used to deliberately cause another person harm! I choose not to engage with the idiotic bigots who try to lift up their own sorry selves by putting someone else down. There is no cure for that kind of mean-spirited, willfully ignorant, evil. Thats the kind of thing that the scriptures warn against, and the thing that the Christian prophet, Jesus Christ, said was an abomination, so if they are trying to pass themselves off as followers of that religion and its prophet, they have failed miserably. I try to keep that kind of evil out of my life as much as possible, and do what I can to add some grace and comfort to this world. They make themselves the source of suffering and misery, and that is the BIGGEST SIN of all! I have no use for them and will give them as little space in my head or my life as I am able to do!
