ABANDONED WHILE SERIOUSLY ILL AND IN PAIN, BUT MY SITUATION WAS EVEN WORSE THAN YOU REALISE… I will never know what I did wrong… I had been sick for some time and was in agonising pain when my owner picked me up, put me in the car, then dumped me at a bus station and drove off. I was far, far away from home. I waited and waited for my owner to return but he never did. I lay down outside that bus station, scared about what would happen to me. It was bad enough to have this constant pain, bad enough to have been dumped, but my situation was so much worse than that. My name is Zidane, I am 5 years old and I am blind. I was found by a kind Thai lady who has previously raised money for Soi Dog. She picked me up and cuddled me and told me she would help. Then she drove me to the Soi Dog shelter. When the vets examined me, I heard them say that the bad pain I had was caused by something called a hernia. They also said I had chronic kidney and liver problems and severe anaemia. I am a very sick boy but the vets hope that with the help of some special people, I will get better. These people are the Soi Dog supporters who have joined the Emergency Response Team. Their donations mean that I can be treated. I wish I could tell you that my story is unique but there are so many more dogs and cats like me. They are sick or injured; they have been abused or abandoned, just like I was. These suffering dogs and cats have no hope without you. Their future is in YOUR hands.
