ABS: So far the #1 question Ive been asked in 2015 is How do I get a 6-pack? or How do I get rid of my belly and get AB cuts, or some variation of that. The answer is use weights and here is the WHY and HOW: WHY: I see many people at the gym doing crunches on a ball or on the floor without holding weights. While there are benefits to body-weight crunches, they rarely produce defined AB cuts without added resistance/weights. AB cuts come from breaking apart the muscle and building them back stronger and more defined. Crunches with no weight will help build endurance and can add some strength, however adding in crunches with weights is the fastest way to transform your midsection and get visible results. I started crunching with a 20lb. weight on my chest and now I crunch and 80lb. dumbbell on my chest. Here is a video of a workout where I do that kind: https://youtube/watch?v=jdN738qvTIs HOW: Years ago I started crunching on a ball using a dumbbell resting on my chest. That added weight caused me to develop abdominal definition. Once I got the results and felt the strength and stability in my core, I was hooked. I never have any back pain. I train my core thoroughly and in a variety of different way, but when it comes to my abs, I never vary crunching with weights. While crunching a dumbbell on a ball is my staple, the above video is another way I add weight to my crunches.
