AC 13: Bengali live shows popularly known as Jatra are extremely popular and Abhishek has marked quite a stamp here. Jatras are live performances and usually tests an actors skill to the fullest. Audiences ranging from thousands to lakhs come for these live shows and give their immediate feedback to the actors. For the actors, its no child play! Occassionally these Jatras take place in remote villages and the actors sometimes travel through the night for the performances. There are days of sleepless nights and continuos acting! Often, the Jatras or Theaters are considered as the actual demonstration of a skillful actor. These shows try to cover an entire movie, including songs,dance,romance and action in a single stage. By the grace of God, it has been 11 years since Abhishek has been recognised successfully for this art. His first year saw him give 97 such performaces as per public demand. So also in the year 2008, it had crossed 85 such shows by public demand. Apart, he usually gives 50-70 such shows. Below is a snapshot of his live performance. Enjoy!
