ACC ARRESTS LCC LEGAL ASSISTANT FOR CORRUPTION, As Ministry Of Information Auditor Also Arrested The Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a Legal Assistant at the Lusaka City Council for corrupt practices involving K 3, 000. Davy Siame, 26, of House No. 1378, off Muranba road in Chilenje, Lusaka has been charged with one count of Corrupt Practices by Public Officer contrary to Section 19 (1) as read with Section 41 of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012. Details of the offence are that Siame, on dates unknown but between 1st August 2014 and 2nd September 2014 in Lusaka, whilst prosecuting a case on behalf of the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA), corruptly solicited for and actually received K 3, 000 cash gratification from Brian Mwiinga, a bus driver, as an inducement or reward to facilitate the release of a bus, registration number ALK 4012, which had been impounded by RTSA, a matter which is prejudicial to the interests of RTSA, a public body. Siame, who denied the charge, has since been released on bond and will appear in Court on 18th September 2014. Meanwhile, The Anti-Corruption Commission has also arrested an Assistant Internal Auditor in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for fraudulent activities contrary to the Laws of Zambia. Greenwell Sikapizye, 40, of Plot No. 5664, Chalala in Lusaka has been charged with 20 Counts of Forgery and Uttering of False Documents contrary to Section 342 as read with Section 347 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia. In the 20 Counts, it is alleged that Sikapizye, between 30th November 2007 and 1st February 2009, whilst working for Ndola Central Hospital as an Assistant Internal Auditor, jointly and whilst acting together with other unknown persons, fraudulently uttered false invoices purported to be from various institutions with intent to deceive the Ndola Central Hospital. Sikapizye is alleged to have defrauded the Ndola Central Hospital of undisclosed amounts of money. He has since been released on Bond and will appear in the Ndola magistrates’ Court on 17th September 2014.source Anti Corruption commision.
