ACCOUNTING MANAGER Description: A leading company in the field of chemicals is now hiring “Accounting Manager”: Main Duties: 1. Apply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure 2. Coordinates monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities. 3. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information 4. Initiate budget and forecasting activities 5. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while Interface with other departments to verify transaction report data and issues 6. Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions 7. Respond to inquiries from the CEO regarding financial results, special reporting requests Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met 8. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department 9. Provide training to new and existing staff as needed 10. Work with direct report to establish performance goals and objectives for each year and monitor and oversees the daily accounting activities required to maintain the Authority’s general ledger. 11. Supervises, directs, and reviews the work of the accounting staff (including, but not limited to, cash reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, accounts receivable transactions, fixed asset activity, payroll, accounts payable transactions, debt activity, recording of revenue and expenses, etc.). 12. Cash management (including placement/movement of funds in various trusts). 13. Maintains organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions. 14. Resolves complex accounting issues or assists other Authority personnel in resolving financial issues. 15. Reviews general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting. 16. Produces financial reports involving the Authority’s trust accounts for monthly board meetings. 17. Produces quarterly and annual financial statements and ad hoc financial reports. 18. Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures. REQUIREMENTS Fluent English BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or Business Management Technical Skills and Prior Experience 7 to 10 years prior supervisory experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, Interface with Oracle ERP processing or similar system required. Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
