ACQUITTED BY HISTORY. Ever have you wondered as did Fidel Castro to stay so long in power? It is not because our leaders have not done their best to throw him out of power. Not, since Castro liberated their country from the corrupt regime of Fulgencio Batista (which supported the United States and the mafia), Washington has tried a variety of methods to overthrow him. These have included attempts to murder (paid with the money of our taxes), invasions, blockades, embargoes, threats of nuclear annihilation, internal disorganization and biological warfare (the CIA pulled germs of African swine fever on the country in 1971, forcing Cubans to kill 500,000 pigs). And - something that has always seemed to me strange, -!There is currently a US naval base on the island of Cuba! Imagine if after having defeated the British in our revolution of independence we would have let them keep a thousand soldiers and a handful of battleships by the Bay of New York. Incredible! President Kennedy, who followed with President Eisenhowers plan to invade Cuba for the Bay of pigs, ordered the CIA to kill Castro trying everything. Of course none of this it worked. He became stronger and the United States continued to pass shame. Cuba was seen as the country which escaped us. He began to be a nuisance to us. Once he took power, nationalized all American businesses and kicked the mafia outside Havana. It was as if sit in the failure of San Andrés, because Uncle Sams wrath fell upon him, and not stopped it quiet for more than 37 years. And despite that, Castro has survived. By this single success, there to admire the boy. Michael Moore, American filmmaker, rebellion, April 11, 2004: A brief history of the Cuban counterrevolution.
