ACTA is Back! On 25 August, Sankei newspaper said as below. ------------------------------------------------ Japan proposed to promote ACTA for intellectual property protection, tighten control over pirated goods. On 25th, Japanese government allegedly proposed during TPP negotiation being held in Brunei, to include an agreement to the international treaty ACTA to tighten control over pirated goods, to protect patents and copyrights of intellectual properties. Pirated DVDs are unlawfully imported to Japan in more and more sophisticated ways mainly from China. As Japan immensely suffers from intellectual property damages, it is aiming to take initiatives to build an international agreement over this issue. (...) Intellectual property category has the longest discussion schedule of 22 to 30 days for this conference.
