ADAMAWA FACE BOOK GROUP STAR POST OF THE WEEK. An investigation - TopicsExpress

ADAMAWA FACE BOOK GROUP STAR POST OF THE WEEK. An investigation carried out by ADAMAWA FACE BOOK GROUP confirmed the post to be true. That in fact, the authorities of the Post-Primary School Management Board actually ordered all Secondary School principals to forward the name and PSN number of any teacher who did not take the loan on or before 4th February, 2014. Some teachers have already complied against their will. For the meantime, Adamawa State Post-Primary School Management Board should write and explain to this great group particularly on the allegation levelled on its high ranking officials on conniving with the company that supplied these laptops to defraud the unsuspecting teachers their take-home-pay which has never taken them home. Abdulrahman Njidda Yebbi Adamawa Teachers Under Exploitation: A Protest! I learnt with dismay, the on-going distribution of laptops to all Adamawa Post-Primary School teachers on loan by the authorities of the Post-Primary School Management Board. Ordinarily, there is nothing wrong in giving out laptops on loan to the Post-Primary School teachers. This is because the programme will enhance their teaching capabilities and ease their research in their various subjects with a view to equipping them as well as setting the stage for the attainment of Vision 20-20-20. However, it comes to my attention that the prices of the said laptops are highly inflated and it is being made compulsory for all the post-primary school teachers to take the loan without any regard for the economic implication of doing so. Many a teachers are being forced against their will to either take the loan or face sanction by the Board. I vehemently oppose this move and state that while technological advancement is here to our benefit, no teacher should be compel but encouraged. In otherwords, it be optional or voluntary. We therefore call for the reversal of this anti-teachers programme and appeal to the relevant authorities to rescind that decision for the benefit of the already-wretched teachers or face the wrath of the law. It should only be given to those who desire it and the price brought down to the current market price of N-80,000 instead of N-130,000. All over the world, no loan is given by force and Adamawa State cannot be an exception. I submit strongly that nobody can love our teachers more than they love themselves. Our teachers should not be treated like commodities in the market where some business men who tag themselves as officials of government use the weaknesses of these important personalities of the teaching profession to make money. Gone are days when such exploitation go without protest. I therefore, on behalf of the affected teachers who could not complain publicly for the fear of the unknown, register my protest! I have noted with regret that some of these teachers are already on loan from their various banks and are severely paying dearly if not through their noses in servicing these loans. This is not to mention other domestic and social expenses. I also learnt authoritativelythat there is connivance between some officials of the Post-Primary School Management Board and the company that supplied these laptops to defraud the unsuspecting teachers of their take-home-pay which has never taken them home. I will continue to monitor until this decision is rescinded otherwise I will be compel to institute an action to protect the interest of our poor teachers. So help me God!
