ADHD & Lying - the problem and the solution: With #ADHD, lying can become a problem as it can be difficult growing up constantly giving people (too) honest answers and having people freak out because your interpretation of things is likely very different than what those around you were expecting. This then creates the instinct to just lie, often about everything. SOLUTION: This can be fixed by removing guilt and shame from your child or partners honest answers and being more inquisitive than punitive when they are honest and say something that hurts you/upsets you. Over time, the ADHDers natural inclination towards (raw) honesty will come back but you better be ready to hear what they REALLY think of lots of lied about things at that point :)
