ADNM McDonough #6 Elementary School on Upperline St. between Chestnut and Coliseum. It is now condominiums. When I attended, Iona E. Berteaux was principal. All of my teachers were women, but the school was co ed. There were many very strong women in important positions even back then.. My aunt was vice principal of Walter L. Cohen High School in the late 60s and early 70s. My grandmother owned her own beauty salon. I was highly influenced by all of the wonderful women who taught me ...at my very first school.
