ADOPTED #28! Life has not been easy for Brutus. This poor guy was seen at times near one of CRI’s feeding stations in the Corridor. He eventually became a regular and allowed our Rescue Team to medicate him how they could by de-fleaing him and providing some antibiotics as Brutus was in pretty bad shape and we are guessing he may have been used as a bait dog. But whatever happened or didnt happen to Brutus, nothing apparently changed his sweet and lovable demeanor. We were waiting for a spot to open soon and hoped to get him into our vet, healthy, then adoptable but things luckily happened sooner rather than later. You see, Brutus ended up at Houston’s city pound. Someone must have called animal control to the area where he was hanging out and he was loaded up and taken to doggie jail. But our dedicated volunteers worked with the pound to make sure this big guy ended up free and safe and on his way to a life of love and happiness. Brutus had some healing to do and we appreciate the great care our friends at K&M’s Canines boarding facility in Conroe gave him as well as all the donations from many generous folks to help cover his medical and boarding expenses. As with any bully breed, we had a feeling ole Brutus might be in boarding or foster for quite a while as we are very proactive when it comes to finding just the right home for these magnificent and loyal (and often times misunderstood) breeds of dog. Guess what? We were wrong. Whoo hoo for Brutus!! Another lucky day happened for him not too long ago at PetSmart when Robert and Katherine and their young family met and fell in love with our big goober. How could they not - Brutus is a charming and endearing fellow! Thank you Robert and Katherine for adopting this very special Corridor Rescue dog – we can’t thank you and your family enough for giving this guy exactly what he deserves – YOU & LOVE!!
