ADRA Nepal has been providing medical services for the Sindhupalchowk flood and landslide affected people through mobile and stationary camps at locations where affected people are temporarily residing, and providing services from medical doctors, nurses and paramedics. The team has been providing curative as well as preventive services to approximately 100 people on daily basis, by increasing the awareness of the affected people especially in water, sanitation and hygiene. A massive landslide occurred at around 02.30am, local time on Saturday, 2 August 2014 at Jure village in Sindhupalchowk district located in the boarder of Mankha and Ramche Village Development Committee. The landslide claimed 156 lives and displaced about 436 people. The highly affected 4 VDCs are Ramche, Mankha, Dhuskun, and Tekanpur. About 165 houses were damaged completely (Ramche 60; Mankha 79; Tekanpur 17 and Dhuskun 9) whereas about 37 households were partially damaged. Approximately 27 people have been injured and are undergoing treatment in Kathmandu.
