ADVENT 9 ZECHARIAHS SONG Johns father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied: Praise be to the Lord, the Father of Israel, because He has come and has redeemed His people... to enable us to serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all our days... And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for Him.... to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the paths of peace. (Luke 1 v. 67 - 79) PRAYER - Everyone asked, What then is this child going to be? For the Lords hand was with him. Lord God, thank You that in a very real sense, Your hand is with us; You constantly reach out to support us, to guide us, to bless us. Thank You that You have a ministry, a role for each of us, and that if we are responsive to Your hand upon us, You will lead us into it. Open our eyes wide, Lord, to see the way ahead. Stretch out Your hand to guide us Stretch out Your hand to support us Stretch out Your hand to bless us... and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, along this narrow path. AMEN. ACTIVITY - Make a conscious effort today to use your hands to guide, support, or bless another person....
